Mystic River Homes, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c) organization providing rental housing and related facilities and services appropriate for the special needs and of elderly or handicapped persons of low or moderate income without regard to race, color, creed, national origin or sexual orientation. Situated on 14 acres, the community consists of two housing complexes, Mystic River Homes “The Cottages” and Mystic River Homes Congregate.

Mystic River Homes- The Cottages (MRH II) is a senior living community with services for individuals at least 62 years of age. The Congregate provides traditional retirement living services in a residential, home-like environment. View the beautiful Mystic River from the main floor dining room, or have a quiet conversation with a new friend in the lovely Richards Room; the Congregate is true New England.

The Congregate is a three-story complex consists of 50 one bedroom apartments. Each unit has a living room, a kitchen with appliances, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

The Congregate provides an environment that permits frail elderly persons to continue an independent life style. Residents are expected to care for their personal needs but congregate services relieve them of some of the responsibilities of ordinary home or apartment living. The daily meal program in the dining room proves a vital link in fostering proper nutrition and fellowship among the residents.

Mystic River Homes “The Cottages” (MRH) is a non-profit, USDA subsidized elderly housing community. MRH has 46 garden style apartments, in four one story buildings, nestled on a hillside overlooking the mouth of the Mystic River. Funded by US Department of Agriculture. The goal of MRH is to provide a pleasant, quiet, neighborly environment for very low to middle income individuals or families. In order to be considered elderly, a household must consist of at least one individual who is 62 years of age or older and/or disabled of any age.
